Published by Electronic Arts way back in 1997, Moto Racer is an arcade style motorcycle racing game. Players can select from different bikes that compare to each other based on three factors: grip, acceleration and speed. The game gave basically two types of bikes for people to select; dirt bikes and road bikes.
Considering when it was released, Moto Racer has great sounds and graphics. The controls for your bike were also good. There are only 8 different tracks in the game, and four of them have to be unlocked by winning the championship. Riders can perform various tricks with their bikes. There is no multiplayer online mode to the game; it came out before such capabilities were available.
This game closely resembles the first title in the Need for Speed series, where to point of the game was to have fun and enjoy the game, not so much about being realistic. Moto Racer has been around for so long, that there are many sites where you can download it for free. If you want to see what a good game was like “back in the day”, take some time and try this one, you might find you like just as much as the old school players still do.
